Psychotherapy Services

Psychotherapy services provided include in-person and telehealth psychotherapy for adult individuals and couples. Michael also works with clients who identify as creatives.

INDIVIDUAL ADULTS

Psychotherapy provides a place where your experiences can be centered, your pain witnessed, your strengths recognized, and your dreams encouraged. Working collaboratively with you, Michael makes space to meet you where you are and let you define if and how you might want your life to change. Past trauma, present struggles, and future goals are all explored using an integrative approach.

COUPLES

Intimate relationships are meant to provide life with safety, comfort, and passion. Everyday stress in the present and family-of-origin trauma from the past can undermine our sense of connection to an intimate partner. Married for nearly two decades, Michael brings lived experience and optimism to his work with couples of all orientations, understanding that each partnership is a unique collaboration and each couple grows together in their own special way.

CREATIVE CLIENTS

Creativity adds spark, purpose, and playfulness to our lives. With over thirty years of experience as a creative professional in the worlds of design and entertainment, Michael brings confidence, encouragement, and insight to clients struggling with their own relationship to their creativity. Whether you are drawn to write, act, direct, edit, dance, design, create music or visual art, your creativity is often an ally in the healing process.

EMDR therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based treatment designed to help minimize the negative effects of traumatic memories. When trauma is triggered, the rational part of the brain often shuts down, while stressful emotions and body sensations are activated in the nervous system. EMDR targets painful memories as well as the negative beliefs that accompany them, freeing one to respond more rationally and wisely. Learn more here.
